Proform Ellipticals Are Not For Demainding Users
You will be able to find a lot of people who like their elliptical trainers from this brand, but the fact is, they are not of good quality. These machines are good enough for ocasional exercises. Another brand machines would be better if you need daily workouts with a lot if intensity.
Another drawback with these elliptical machines is that the warranty is very short, 90 days on parts, and 90 days on labor. If you do decide on an elliptical trainer from this brand you should certainly invest in the extended warranty. Some people have also complained that after the warranty has run out it’s been difficult to get the company interested in your problems with the machine.
All models from Proform are made to look quite attractive, but that doesn’t mean they are durable. For instance the Proform elliptical 800 comes with six programs,and a fan to cool you off while you workout. There is an option of downloading some more exercising programs via Internet. The handlebars move to work your upper body and the unit has a heart rate monitor.
These elliptical machines are made by Icon Fitness. Icon Fitness makes fitness equipment for some other companies as well. Many of these models were tested in a laboratory and there have been problems even in the first run. First machine had to be repaired and taken care of while the other one needed a new part to be installed. The lab also found the Proform elliptical to be somewhat noisy when being used.
Some models you probably heard of are: Proform 900, Proform 675 and Proform 400. These units are used at home since they have very low price and people think they will save money by doing that. Too many users complain about malfunctions that are impossible to fix and parts that break all the time. If you though about buying 900, 400 or 675, you should think twice.
It is important that when shopping for an elliptical you make sure to try it out in the store before you make a final decision.
