Maestro modular budget office furniture
The Maestro series of business furniture manufactured by Dams International is possibly the most popular ranges of business furniture ever produced. The success of Maestro office furniture is based upon a combination of Maestro offering excellent value for money, Maestro furniture is extremely hard wearing and functional, and Maestro offers a wide choice of modular furniture products. Maestro is the ideal choice for either cost conscious firms or the home office furniture buyer.
Maestro desks come in a choice of three basic shapes (L shaped, wave and rectangular desks) each in a choice of sizes and a straight choice of leg designs between wooden panel end and the more popular steel cantilever design. Over the years Maestro products have been manufactured in several different MFC woodgrain effect finishes. Recently the range has been limited to either beech or oak woodgrain finish, though the cherry finish and light grey Maestro products have only recently been phased out and in some cases residual stocks may still be available.
If there is a possible shortcoming of Maestro office furniture, it is that it is constructed from 18mm MFC wood effect board which could be deemed to be slightly too inexpensive for some customers requirements, though it’s hard wearing strength and durability should not be doubted despite its low cost. The commercial office furniture market has swung firmly towards 25mm furniture products over the last few years which often looks a lot more expensive. A good compromise as an upgrade from Maestro is the Maestro 25 furniture range (also known as M25 range).
Maestro 25 desking is generally around 10% to 15% more expensive than Maestro desks, but they appear a much better quality and give a more positive impression. The two ranges can be fitted in the same office and will not stick out like a sore thumb. A key thing to note is that M25 desks are only available in standard metric sizes (800mm deep and metric widths like 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm etc.) whereas Maestro desks comes in unusual depths and widths (746mm deep and widths like 1228mm, 1532mm, 1778mm etc.) The range mismatch is only an issue if you intend to add a Maestro 25 desk adjacent to a cluster of 18mm Maestro desks.
