Hawaii: A Beautiful And Historically Vibrant Heritage
Ahhh The Hawaiian Islands are definitely one of the main visitor hot spots in the United States. For a good reason too! This set of islands offers beauty beyond comparison and does not need a passport for United States visitors. It is the 50th of the fifty states, but the culture here is so different it feels like you’re in a whole different country.
Hawaii boasts eight major islands. They’re the island of Hawaii (The Big Island), Maui (The Valley Isle), Kaho’olawe (The Target Isle), Lana’i (The Pineapple Isle), Moloka’i (The Friendly Isle), O’ahu (The Gathering Place), Kaua’i (The Garden Isle) and Ni’ihau (The Forbidden Isle).
The Hawaiian language is absolutely lovely. It is of Polynesian origin, however English is the main language within the islands. There’s been a substantial movement in recent years to re-emphasize using the traditional language and to also pass along the rich and varied culture of traditional Hawaii within the schools.
The highest of all the Hawaiian Islands is the Big Island with the Mauna Kea volcano which is officially recorded 13,796 feet tall. But, if measurements from the very foundation of the mountain on the sea floor were considered you would find a record setting 33,500 foot height. Amazing!
The weather in Hawaii is beautiful year-round. It has the classic weather patterns in a warm locale. The trade winds, however, render humidity lower than found in many tropical areas around the world. The islands for the most part just have two seasons, the dry season from May and lasts through October and the wet season that commences later in November and continues throughout March.

Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and brought The United States into World War II. You can tour Pearl Harbor and find out info on specifically what took place upon that eventful day.
Important towns in Hawaii include Honolulu, South Point, Waipouli, Koloa, Napili, Paneawa, Nawiliwili and Kalihiwai. Each provide their own individual experience for visitors, yet it would take more than only one trip to the islands to experience it all.
