Federal Income Tax Information Online for 2009, 2010

There are thousands of websites that offer tax information but not all are accurate. If you have tax questions and hop on the internet hoping to find your answers then be sure you are working with a trusted site that will give you honest answers.

The most official website for tax information is of course the IRS website. Although this site will give accurate information it can often be very difficult to understand. The language throughout the website is usually only understandable to qualified accountants and CPA’s. You could waste a lot of time reading through unnecessary information trying to answer your simple questions.

If you file your taxes online then the tax preparations company should be able to answer all of your questions before you actually file your return or pay any money. They will usually guide you through the entire process and give you instructions on how to view your information when it is completed. If you are asked to pay any kind of fees up front then it is usually not a valid site or they are just trying to rip you off.

If you have filed your federal return online then you should be able to access all of your information easily at any time either through the IRS website or the preparation company that you used. There is a ton of information that you can access online such as last year’s return, errors in your return, how to file your return, status of your return, and status of your payment.
