Cheap holidays to New York: the Big Apple on a budget
To experience cheap holidays to New York, a visitor must be very frugal. This will also depend on a person’s definition of cheap.
If your definition of cheap is a low price on normal accommodations than a hotel room below $150 a night would be and is a bargain in New York. The funny thing about a room in New York is that what is considered a room there is the size of a walk in closest for most of the country.
For those thinking of camping out in Central Park, the movies are a little dramatic but still realistic enough to advise against it. New York City has been the largest city in America since 1790 and it is still growing. Most of the growth is up so the concentration of people is getting great and greater by the day.
There is no getting around the cost of most major attractions like the Empire State Building is $20 for adults and $14 for children under 12. To visit the Statue of Liberty is more reasonable, it is free. But like most things there is a catch. The statue is on an island so the ferry man must be paid. The ferry cost $12 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12.
When making your plans and small children are not included on the trip, consider one of the many hostels that can be stayed at for under $50. There are even some for under $20 a night. You will have to share a bed room and a bathroom, but the savings is tremendous compared to the Plaza at $549 a night.
Finding a cheap holidays to New York is possible just look for the bargins.
